So far so good. New build. Cooler Master H500 ATX Mid, Thermaltake Grand RGB 750w, Cooler Master 200mm rgb top fan, Intel I5 9600k, Samsung 970 Evo 250 GB, Fenvi Dual band 9260 wireless adapter, 16 GB G-Skill RGB 3000mhz DDR4, Cooler Master ml120l. Will update when done tweaking.

2. Asus ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming Motherboard LGA1151

  • Gamer’s Guardian ensures component longevity with safe Slot, ESD guards and DRAM overcurrent protection
  • Pre-mounted I/O shield ensures streamlined installation and represents ROG’s attention to detail and quality

I’ve been using ASUS products for years and Ill admit the z370 to the z390 was a dumb idea. But nonetheless this board can handle the 9900k at 5ghz on all cores without problem. And both NVME drives have heatsinks this time. It also came with a 40mm fan for the cpu VRMs. So far installation was a breeze and fired right up! If your only going to get an 8700k then get the z370 and save a few bucks. But for whatever dumb reason intel makes us upgrade our motherboards every time a new CPU comes out. But i’m glad that the Z390E is all black!

3. ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Motherboard (ATX)

  • Powered by 2nd generation AMD Ryzen AM4 and 7th generation Athlon processors to maximize connectivity and speed with dual NVMe M.2, USB 3.1 Gen2, gigabit LAN and up to 64GB of DDR4 (3200 MHz)
  • 5-Way Optimization with Auto-Tuning and Fan Xpert 4 automatically tailors overclocking profiles to your unique build for maximum OC performance and dynamic system cooling
  • Aura Sync RGB lighting plus 2 additional RGB headers provide a nearly endless spectrum of colors with the ability to synchronize effects across an ever-expanding ecosystem of enabled products
  • Industry-leading 8-channel HD audio with the ROG exclusive SupremeFX S1220A driven by Japanese capacitors
  • Pre-mounted I/O shield ensures streamlined installation and represents ROG’s attention to detail and quality

The absolute best Ryzen motherboard you should get if you don’t intend to use SLI. The VRM supplies stable power compared to my old MSi motherboard. The components are high quality, and the RGB lighting adds a nice touch. The audio codec needed some tuning, it might be a bug. But it was quickly fixed. Aura Sync worked seemlessly, but some of the gimmicks you won’t need. Fan control is excellent.

With my Ryzen 2700 and a Arctic Freezer 33 cooler, I was able to reach 4.2 GHz at a comfortable temperature of 60 degrees C. Way better than the crashing with MSi.

4. ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) Z390 Gaming Motherboard

  • Designed for 9th 8th generation Intel Core processors maximize connectivity, speed with dual M.2, USB 3.1 Gen 2, onboard 802.11ac Wi-Fi and ASUS Optimum II for better DRAM overclocking stability
  • Revamped 5-Way Optimization overclocks intelligently based on smart prediction and thermal telemetry while FanXpert 4 delivers dynamic system cooling
  • Aura Sync RGB lighting with addressable headers features a nearly endless spectrum of colors with the ability to synchronize effects across an ever-expanding ecosystem of Aura Sync enabled products
  • Pre-mounted I/O shield ensures streamlined installation and represents ROG’s attention to detail and quality

I am quite pleased with my new ASUS Maximus XI Hero motherboard. I highly recommend it. The ASUS Maximus XI Hero has an 1151 CPU socket and is built with the Z390 chipset. It supports multiple GPUs for SLI/Crossfire video operation. It has 6 GB/s SATA ports and USB 3.1 (gen 1 and gen 2). The motherboard has a socket for a TPM module for Windows BitLocker.

5. ASUS ROG Maximus XI Code LGA1151 (Intel 8th and 9th Gen)

  • Designed for 9th,8th generation Intel Core processors to maximize connectivity and speed with dual M.2, USB 3.1 Gen 2,802.11ac Wi-Fi and ASUS Opti-MEM II for better DRAM overclocking stability
  • Revamped 5-Way Optimization overclocks intelligently based on smart prediction and thermal telemetry while Fan Xpert 4 delivers dynamic system cooling
  • Dedicated water cooling headers and built-in Cross Chill EK III water block allow monitoring of water temperature and flow without a standalone controller

Great board! Runs flawlessly, Aida64 detects VRM temperature. Running X.M.P. II. The only thing I didn’t like was the EKWB M.2 coolers couldn’t fit, so I had to use the stock M.2 cooler which was decent but not any better than the EKWB M.2 cooler.
