The truth is, all major appliance brands offer nearly identical refrigerators. The new models you’ll see today are far more energy-efficient than those produced even five years ago, and repairs are only as difficult as finding the nearest technician. So, how do you choose what’s right for you? First, you’ll need to measure your space, then figure out the refrigerator style and size best for your lifestyle. Don’t worry — we’ll show you how.
1. hOmeLabs Mini Fridge
This product is slightly larger than your normal mini fridge. That’s what I like about it. It’s big enough to store a good amount of food in it, which I had problems with with other mini fridges. The shelves in this unit are places perfectly, there is room for everything you need. Color and style is also chic, so no complaints. It’s a very nice mini fridge. Does it’s job and looks good doing it.
2. Magic Chef MCBR440S2 Refrigerator, 4.4 cu. ft, Stainless Steel
So far, so good….will return in a few months for follow-up review….very, very quiet…..very, very cold….right now very satisfied……fast forward, have had Re-frig more than a year now, working like a charm
3. Midea WHD-113FSS1, 3.1 Cubic Feet, Stainless Steel
This is a good dorm minifridge. The freezer keeps things frozen, the fridge keeps things cold, and I don’t have to use the overstuffed communal fridges in the kitchen. It’s big enough to hold quite a bit of food, yet small enough to fit well in my ~200 sq ft dorm room. Highly recommended for any college student who wants/needs to cook for themself.
Noise level: Quieter than I was expecting, makes a little humming noise. I have auditory processing disorder, so repetitive/constant noises drive me up the wall, but I’m really happy with this fridge. If the noise does bother you, it’s definitely quiet enough to cover up with a fan or soft background music.
The shelves and drawer in the fridge are good sizes/spaced well for me, but if you don’t like the shelf you can take it out. The sizes of the door compartments are kind of weird, especially since I don’t drink soda so don’t use the soda can rack. If you’re willing to apply a little duct tape, though, you can do a lot with it. I kind of wish the freezer had a shelf so I could make ice more conveniently, but turning a mesh 8.5×11 paper tray upside down would solve that problem.
4. Costway Compact Refrigerator 3.2 cu ft. Unit Small Freezer Cooler Fridge (Grey)
I’m honestly surprised at how much I love this mini fridge!!! For only $150 this mini fridge is a GREAT deal! Keeps all my food fresh and I love how there is so much space for storage. It comes with a cute little ice tray and an ice scraper (which you will need to use because the freezer gets frosty!). There is plenty of room for a regular sized ice tray in the freezer. For a single person, this fridge is an excellent deal.
